What it takes to be a queen
Lucinda Witte, Director
Hello, and WELCOME! My name is Lucinda Witte. I am the Director and owner of the Miss Rancho Cordova Pageant, Inc. I have been doing pageants since I was 15. I love the sparkly gowns, crowns, and mostly the people I have met during my various reigns and the numerous opportunities to volunteer and give-back to my community. I have resided in Rancho Cordova for 25 years. The Miss Rancho Cordova was formerly run by the Rancho Cordova Community in the late 1970s, and later by the late Mary Purvis. I have held the title(s) of Mrs. Greater Sacramento, Mrs. Sacramento, Mrs. Rancho Cordova, Mrs. Gold River, Miss Citrus Heights, Miss Metro, Miss California Talent, Miss Citrus-Heights Ambassador,Mrs. Roseville-City and Mrs. Placer County Ambassador under Kennedy Pageant Productions, and recently a delegate in the USOA United States Pageant representing Mrs. Sacramento, Ms. Diamond with the Purple Pageant, a delegate representing AWOS Mrs. California 2021, Petite USA delegate representing Elite Ms. Pacific Coast 2022 and 2023 American's Fit Miss Pageant winner and 2024 delegate representing California in the Universal Global Pageant. |
The Late Mary Purvis
Mary Ruth Purvis ran the Miss Citrus Heights Pageant and other local city pageant titles since 1973 and passed away in March of 2014 at age 86. She was dedicated to her girls and her community of Citrus Heights. Mary believed in Ethics* Honesty*Integrity* Responsibility* Accountability. Mary coached and mentored her girls. She told them that the most important thing to keep in mind was that no matter which girl captured the ultimate crown every participant in her pageant was a winner in her own right. That each girl had gained friendships and acquaintances, exchanged ideas and shared new experiences, and achieved a better understanding of her own city and the common bonds that unite us into a great community. In honor of the late Mary Ruth Purvis I dedicate the Miss Rancho Cordova Pageant to her legacy and will continue to keep her candle burning in memory of her love for family, community and her queens. |

Located in the eastern part of Sacramento County, Rancho Cordova is a community with a rich history including the first 12 miles of railroad in California, a thriving military base in its time, and the home of a successful aerospace company. |
